2023 TCCIP International Workshop On Climate Change

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) published its Sixth Assessment Report in late 2022, providing compelling evidence of the ongoing climate change and its profound impact on society. The AR6 report not only urged scientific communities to embrace evidence-based decision-making but also underscored the significance of regional and global cooperation. In this 2-day workshop, TCCIP wishes to open up dialogue with international research communities, to facilitate the sharing of research developments and tools utilized to support risk-informed policy. In-depth discussions and presentations on climatic trends, climate change impact, and adaptation strategies are scheduled to take place.

2019 TCCIP International Workshop on Climate Change

With the world facing immense threats and uncertainties due to climate change, the know-how of improving scientific interpretation and application of climate data, as well as the development of methodologies and tools for data analysis, are the most critical elements in climate change services and they serve as the technical support to countries, ministries and local governments in adapting to the impacts of climate change. In this 3-day workshop, TCCIP wishes to facilitate the sharing of research developments and climate change service knowledge through the joining of a collection of experts and teams from TOUGOU, GERICS and CCCA, whereby in-depth discussions, presentations and poster sessions on fundamental research, climate change impact and adaptation, and the improvement of innovation service are scheduled to take place.

2016 TCCIP Workshop Applications of Climate Change Projection

It is a great honor for National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR) to host the 2016 TCCIP workshop on Applications of Climate Change Projection at March 8th to 10th , 2016, New Taipei City, Taiwan. Since the Taiwan Climate Change Information and Projection (TCCIP) project of the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of Taiwan being initiated in 2009, TCCIP project started to set up a platform to provide regional data downscaled from the climate projection of GCM data and information for users nationwide.

Workshop on High-Resolution Climate Simulation, Projection and Application

The Workshop on High-Resolution Climate Simulation, Projection, and Application will be held at Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan during January 19-21, 2015. The workshop is hosted by National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR) and Research Center for Environmental Change of Academia Sinica. The topics of the workshop will focus on High Resolution GCM Development, Climate Projection of GCM and Application of GCM data: Climate Change Impact Assessment. While the resolution of model data improved form CMIP4 to CMIP5, the trend for high resolution data is inevitable and necessary. Every research group is developing its own model with different methodology. Hence, this workshop attempts to help local researchers and experts from Australia, United States, Japan, and United Kingdom to share their experiences. Through experience sharing and idea exchanging, this workshop aims at introducing the most updated information on high resolution climate simulation stud to participants, promoting academic interchange, enhancing the communication between different data developers, and seeking collaboration chances in the future.

2014 TCCIP International Workshop on Climate Change

The 2014 TCCIP International Workshop on Climate Change (TCCIP-IWCC 2014) is organized by NCDR and National Science Council, and co-organized by the Research Center for Environmental Changes of Academia Sinica and Central Weather Bureau. In addition to local researchers, experts from Australia, Japan, Korea, Netherlands, United Kingdom and the United States are also invited to present their recent work and share their experiences. Through experience sharing and idea exchanging, this workshop aims at introducing the most updated information on climate change study to participants, promoting academic interchange, enhancing the communication between data producers and data users, and seeking collaboration chances in the future. The topics of the workshop will focus on local climate analysis, climate change projection, impact assessments and data services.

2013 International Conference on Climate Change

2012 is the third year of both the Taiwan Climate Change Projection and Information Platform (TCCIP) project, one of the three major projects which NSC funded, and WRA’s “Climate Change Impacts and Adaptation on Water Environment” project. The TCCIP project is coordinated by National Science and Technology Center for Disaster Reduction (NCDR) and has accomplished some achievements on climate change research, climate change projection over Taiwan, and interdisciplinary research. Through collaborating with TCCIP, WRA’s project also delivered essential results of impact assessment on water resources, droughts, floods and coasts and proposed adaptation policy based on these results. Based on the experience of the past three years, TCCIP is expected to deliver the most updated data of climate change projection over East Asia and Taiwan area and provide the guidance of data usage to fulfill the needs of “Taiwan Adaptation Policy Framework on Climate Change” in the near future.
