Activities / 2023 TCCIP International Workshop On Climate Change
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) published its Sixth Assessment Report in late 2022, providing compelling evidence of the ongoing climate change and its profound impact on society. The AR6 report not only urged scientific communities to embrace evidence-based decision-making but also underscored the significance of regional and global cooperation.
In this 2-day workshop, TCCIP wishes to open up dialogue with international research communities, to facilitate the sharing of research developments and tools utilized to support risk-informed policy. In-depth discussions and presentations on climatic trends, climate change impact, and adaptation strategies are scheduled to take place.
Main Topics
The workshop's main topics are focused on enhancing climate change research efforts in the Eastern region and encompass the following areas:
- Climate data and Analysis: this topic will explore various analyses related to climate change projections, high-resolution climate modeling, downscaling, and the alterations in climatic patterns caused by global warming.
- Impact Drivers and Analysis: this topic will address the main drivers influencing various areas of concern, including coastal disasters, agriculture, health, forestry, and more. Analytical results on disaster hotspots, stakeholder identification, and adaptation strategies will be presented.
