  Self Introduction

Dr. Jing-Shan Hong specialized in mesoscale meteorology and numerical weather prediction. He was in charge of developing the operational WRF-based data assimilation system at the Central Weather Administration (CWA). He has engaged in developing the ensemble prediction system and promoting the ensemble products' application in all aspects, especially for the risk assessment and decision-making for the high-impact weather forecast. Now Dr. Hong is the Director of the Research and Development Center in CWA. The center is responsible for several important business developments in CWA, including collecting, managing, and serving historical observation data, developing global and climate models, developing statistical post-process techniques, and operating short-term climate forecasting. In addition, the climate services and cross-domain cooperation are important missions, particularly in the energy, agriculture, and water resource sectors. Dr. Hong is responsible for leading the CWA team in managing and serving the historical climate observation data and providing the diagnoses and analysis for the climate events in TCCIP TEAM1.
