Prof. Weng's research interests mainly covers two aspects; (1) the diagnostics and analysis of the climate phenomena, especially the issues related to the East Asian monsoon climate variability; (2) the statistical analysis and statistical modelling of climate data, especially on the precipitation data analysis. In TCCIP, he is responsible for analyzing historical observed data (station and satellite observations) and producing long-term gridded datasets (rainfall, temperature and radiation) after their homogenization and griddization in Team1 group.
